This week I am meeting a group of American students to discuss the art of bringing characters to life in children's fiction. We are gathering in the V&A, along with Diane Purkiss who - along with her son, Michael - makes up the author team published under the name of Tobias Druitt. I'm really looking forward to chatting to young adults about how to breathe life into the people that inhabit our stories.
